Dr. Scholl’s Shoes Rate Bootie Review

Dr. Scholl’s Rate Bootie

I’m excited to tell you about Dr. Scholl’s Shoes Rate bootie. I ordered it on a whim because, well, it’s more affordable ($69.99) than most ankle booties. My feet are just terrible lately (tailor’s bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis). Although the comfort level isn’t the same as my faithful Birks (nothing is), these are as good as it gets for fashion boots.

The toe box is accommodating and soft microfiber uppers don’t aggravate my painful tailor’s bunions and hammertoes caused by rheumatoid arthritis. The insole is surprisingly cushioned with moderate arch support. I wore them from 7:30 am-noon today to teach three back-to-back Spanish classes and even danced a little salsa with my students (thank you, Celia Cruz).

Other features I like: the cut-out on the side, the fact they make my size 10 feet look smaller without compromising comfort, they look great with pants, jeans, and even skirts (which I wore today). My biggest complaint is that they’re hard to put on at first. I have a high volume foot (high instep) and it was basically a contortionist act to get my foot into these cute booties. But once in, the fit and feel is spot-on.

The Dr. Scholl’s Shoes Rate bootie runs true to size in my opinion. I ordered both the medium and wide width and kept the medium. While my forefoot is wide, the rest of my foot runs medium with a narrow heel and the wides felt sloppy.

Find the Dr. Scholl’s Rate booties in sizes 6-11, medium and wide widths for $60-69.99 from Zappos, DrSchollsShoes.com, and Amazon.
